During the week of April 7–11, Ste. Genevieve Middle School celebrated Kindness Week by recognizing students who exemplified compassion, helpfulness, and thoughtful actions throughout the school day.
Teachers nominated students who went out of their way to show kindness to peers and staff alike:
Jossalyn Portwood, Seth Richardson, and Amadea Zielinski were recognized for holding doors open for others in the morning.
Clayton Huck, Dylan Lohman, Kennedy McKlin, and Milah Shinabargar lent a hand to classmates by helping them gather equipment at the end of band class.
Wyatt Schmelzle, Lexi Wolk, and Amadea Zielinski (nominated twice!) offered their time to help classmates understand assignments after finishing their own work.
Josilyn Bourisaw took initiative to clean up not only after herself but also others in the cafeteria, and Audrey Horrell stayed after class to assist a substitute teacher with cleanup.
Kade Rayoum, Lilly Roth, and Laura Woods stood out for frequently offering to help their teachers with anything they needed.
Tess Huffman brightened a fellow student’s day with a heartfelt compliment.
As a fun way to celebrate these acts of kindness, four students were randomly selected to receive a free ice cream: Dylan Lohman, Seth Richardson, Laura Woods, and Tess Huffman.
Congratulations to all of these students for demonstrating that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference!
