Senior Lucy Sears Named April Rotary Student of the Month

Congratulations to Lucy Sears, the Rotary Student of the Month for April from Ste. Genevieve High School. Lucy is the daughter of Roy and Debora Bronson.

Lucy’s scholastic honors include: being ranked in the Top Ten Percent of her class, earning the designation of Summa Cum Laude two years, and earning Magna Cum Laude one year. Lucy has received the following class awards: Geometry, CP American History, German II, and Organic Chemistry.

Lucy has been a member of the Marching Band for four years, the Constitution Team for two years, and has been a member of the volleyball, wrestling and Speech and Debate teams. As a member of the Ste. Genevieve High School Band, Lucy earned the following solo and ensemble awards at the annual MSHSAA  District Solo and Ensemble Festival: silver for Solo (2023-24; 2024-25), silver for Trio (2023-24), and silver for Quartet (2024-25). Lucy also earned varsity letter for wrestling. 

Lucy has been a member of the Ste. Genevieve Municipal Band for three years and participated in their 2024 Christmas concert at the Ste. Genevieve Catholic Church. In her free time, Lucy enjoys weight-lifting, drawing and painting, model building, playing video games, and cooking. 

She plans on attending Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) and pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree, majoring in Forensic Chemistry. She also plans to participate in the Air Force ROTC program SEMO offers and commission as an officer in the United State Military.
