Senior Sophia Huck Named December Elks Student of the Month

Congratulations to Sophia Huck, the Elks Student of the Month for December from Ste. Genevieve High School. Sophia is the daughter of Tina and Dan Huck.

Sophia’s scholastic honors include: being in the Top 10% for three years, being ranked 4th in her class, earning A Honor Roll for three years, and earning the designation of Summa Cum Laude for three years. 

Sophia has also been involved in a number of clubs and organizations, including: National Honor Society (NHS) — Vice President, Service Coordinator; Student Council — Executive Board for two years; FRIENDS — President for two years; Planet Power — Treasurer, Secretary; Mentors; A+ Program; and Future Teachers of America (FTA).

Sophia was a member of the volleyball team all four years, was on the varsity team for three years and served as captain her senior year. She was also the manager for both Track and Field and Girls Basketball for three years. For volleyball, she has earned Academic All-State.

In her free time, Sophia enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking girls trips, and taking trips to Chick-fil-A and Starbucks with her mom. She is employed at The Artisan and the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center, where she works at the summer day camp. Sophia plans to obtain a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at either Maryville University or Missouri State. She then plans to work with students with special needs in a school setting.
